Emmerdale’s Kelvin Fletcher and wife Liz admit they ‘always argue’ in family update

Emmerdale’s Kelvin Fletcher and his wife Liz featured on ITV’s Lorraine on Thursday (February 13), giving fans a glimpse into the lambing process at their family farm in Cheshire. The former soap actor has swapped acting for farming in the Peak District, alongside Liz and their four kids.

However, they admitted life on a farm has its challenges. In a pre-recorded video from the farm, Liz confessed that she and Kelvin would “always row” when trying to herd the sheep.

She described the task as stressful due to the sheep’s tendency to ignore commands. Kelvin hopped on the quad bike to gather them all, with Liz noting: “You’ll always have an argument when herding sheep, we’re told you’re not real farmers if you don’t.”

She also revealed that her husband would invariably “mock her driving” whenever she took the four-wheeler out.

Despite Liz’s initial apprehensions, everything seemed to go smoothly as they guided their sheep into an enclosure for weighing. Those showing weight gain would proceed to the next stage of the process, reports Leeds Live.

During a live segment from their farm, they lined up the animals suspected of being pregnant.

Kelvin explained the “ideal” situation was sheep expecting “doubles”

Kelvin shared some farm life gossip with Scottish presenter Lorraine as he talked about the “ideal scenario” on the smallholding being a sheep pregnant with “doubles” because it’s much less of a “risk”. The husband and wife hoped the sheep would bring at least two little ones each into the world for a more “easy life”.

Kelvin then spilled the beans about how twin-carrying sheep get tagged with blue spray, single-baby mamas get a green mark, and the risky triplet-carriers cop a red one for “for danger”. Liz said: “It’s the most nail biting scan of our lives,” as they prepared for the big moment where their sheep would get their ultrasound debut live on the telly.

They were chuffed when the first sheep turned out to be carrying two, as they cheered: “Yes, twins.”

It wasn’t all as happy when the second sheep stepped up to the podium and was only expecting one baby. Lorraine positively said: “That’s alright though, it’s better than triplets.”
