Now, we all know the Duttons are a Montana family through and through.
But for this season, “1923” is takin’ a little detour to the Lone Star
State, filmin’ scenes in both Austin and San Antonio.
“We wanted to capture the grit and grandeur of Texas in the 1920s,” one of the show’s producers revealed, adjustin’ his Stetson. “And there’s no better place to do that than in these two iconic cities.
Helen Mirren in San Antonio? Fiesta Time!
Imagine: you’re strollin’ down the River Walk, sippin’ a margarita, and suddenly, you spot Helen Mirren walkin’ past in a flapper dress and a scowl that could curdle milk. Don’t worry, it’s not a tequila-induced hallucination!
Helen, who plays the formidable Cara Dutton, will be gracin’ San Antonio with her presence as the crew transforms the city into a 1920s wonderland.
“It’s gonna be like steppin’ back in time,” a local shopkeeper gushed to reporters, her eyes wide with excitement. “I just hope I don’t faint when I see Helen Mirren walk by my window!”
Dust, Drought, and Dutton Drama
But it’s not all star sightings and vintage fashion, folks. Season 2 of “1923” promises to be even more intense than the first, with the Duttons facin’ down drought, prohibition, and a whole lotta bad guys who want their land.
The season finale left us on a cliffhanger, with Jacob Dutton (Harrison Ford, lookin’ rugged as ever) in a showdown with the villainous oil baron Donald Whitfield. Will the Duttons prevail? Or will their empire crumble under the weight of greed and betrayal?
More Viewers Than Cattle on the Yellowstone Ranch
The premiere of “1923” broke records, becomin’ the most-watched Paramount+ premiere ever in the US. Seems like everyone’s got a hankerin’ for a good ol’ fashioned Western saga, especially when it involves Hollywood legends and enough family drama to make a soap opera writer blush.
Get Ready for a Showdown (and Maybe a Line Dance or Two)
So, mark your calendars, folks! “1923” is comin’ back, and it’s bringin’ all the drama, intrigue, and Stetson-wearin’ cowboys we could ask for.
And if you happen to be in San Antonio this fall, keep your eyes peeled for Helen Mirren.
Just don’t get too close – those Dutton women don’t mess around!
