So many people in Emmerdale ended up being involved in the death of Anthony Fox (Nicholas Day), that it’s a wonder that the secret of his murder has been kept this long. But it turns out to be the unexpected figure of Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) who threatens to bring the whole house of cards tumbling down.
There are a whole lot of people who are facing jail if the truth about what happened to Anthony ever comes out. Caleb (William Ash) threatened him with a gun. Aaron (Danny Miller) beat the living daylights out of him in a dramatic confrontation.
Then, as Anthony lay badly injured, Ruby (Beth Cordingly) discovered him and finished him off.
John (Oliver Farnworth), Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Chas (Lucy Pargeter) were all to differing extents complicit in covering up the crime as they came together and made a pact that they would all stick to the story that Anthony had simply left the village of his own accord.
This plan is not exactly watertight given that Caleb currently despises Cain for sleeping with Ruby and tried to frame him for the murder. Ruby, meanwhile, has been wracked with guilt because Steph (Georgia Jay) has been so upset over her grandfather vanishing.
Anthony’s death has also meant that he never had to face justice for abusing Ruby and that’s something that she can’t come to terms with.
Meanwhile Chas has contemplated going to the police to try to minimise her own involvement in what happened because she can’t contemplate her daughter Eve growing up with her mother in prison.
And Steph has been doing her best to uncover what might have happened to her granddad, her suspicions even higher after speaking to a friend of his who’d been expecting Anthony to visit.
Against this backdrop, it’s hardly surprising that Caleb and Steph haven’t exactly been prioritising their company, Caleb Miligan International. In fact they’ve been neglecting the day to day running of the business and Jai Sharma has had to take up most of the slack.

While Jai doesn’t mind being in charge, he really doesn’t like the thought that Caleb is taking advantage of him. He can’t forget the fact that Caleb conned him into investing in he business when he first started and he doesn’t exactly trust his boss.
So, in true Jai fashion, he sets about trying to discover why Caleb and Steph are not pulling their weight. He knows that Caleb is hiding something and is determined to find out what it is.
Spotting that whenever Anthony’s name is mentioned Caleb starts looking uneasy, Jai has a revelation and knows that the mystery is something to do with Anthony’s disappearance.
Convinced he’s on to something, Jai isn’t going to give up until he’s solved the puzzle – and the conspirators are in serious danger of being exposed.
