Mel and Jack have had plenty of ups and downs in Virgin River,
but will they finally become parents in Season 6? Here’s what we know.
The anchoring point of Virgin River since its first season has been the budding
romance between Mel and Jack. Ever since Mel found her fresh start in the fictional village, she and Jack have been entangled in each other – and their fair share of drama.
At the start of Season 5 Part 1, Mel suffered a miscarriage, throwing doubt on whether the pair would ever be able to fulfill their future dream of becoming parents.
With the pair now stronger than ever – and Mel preoccupied with other kinds of family drama – the question is once again raised: will Mel and Jack become parents in Virgin River Season 6?

Though nothing is officially confirmed, it seems as though there’s an extremely good chance we’ll see Mel and Jack embark on their family plans in Virgin River Season 6.
According to a report from the EarlyBirdTimes, showrunner Patrick Sean Smith has suggested that one of the major storylines in new episodes will concern the couple pressing forward with their plans to become parents.
Smith also suggests that both Mel and Jack have hit their limit in terms of sustaining trauma, hinting that happier times are soon to head their way.
However, for some fans, Mel and Jack may have kids from a source that’s a little closer to home.
“I have a theory that since Jack has convinced Mel adoption is okay, something will happen to Charmaine and Jack and Mel will end up adopting the twins and they actually become Jack’s sons after all,” one user posted on Reddit.
“Valid theory. They’ve been keeping her around and pregnant for a hell of a long time. Maybe she will die in childbirth and the father of the twins will end up in jail so unable to take custody,” another responded.
However, a third mused, “If they were going to adopt (and it’s very likely at this stage), I sincerely hope it’s not the twins… I can’t see Mel raising Charmaine’s children for some reason. Not sure how Jack would feel about bringing up Calvin’s kids either.”
“The only thing I’m Mad about Season 5 Part 2 is it was only two episodes. If Season 6 is the final season of Virgin River, then can Mel and Jack please get a Miracle Baby. I know Mel said she was done trying but she deserves to be a mom,” another fan pleaded on X/Twitter.Though we don’t yet know exactly what will happen, things seem to be taking shape for their family unit in Season 6.
