Fire Country fans, expect one major player on the show to make an appearance on the Sheriff Country spinoff this fall.

With season 4 of the CBS drama set to premiere on October 17, 2025, fans are ready to re-immerse themselves in the world of Edgewater. While Fire Country is known to follow the lives of firefighters living in the area, its spinoff Sheriff Country will instead focus on the law enforcement looking to keep the fictional town safe. But as always with this TV universe, both shows are inherently linked given how they both take place in a similar setting … and sometimes even feature the same characters.

Case in point: fans met Morena Baccarin (who plays Sheriff Mickey Fox) in season 2 of Fire Country and saw her make a season 3 cameo in early 2025. But with Morena being the star of Sheriff Country (which also premieres on October 17), some viewers are curious to know about the status of one other character appearing on the show. Mainly, will Max Thieriot (who executive produces and stars as Bode Leone, a.k.a. Mickey’s nephew, on Fire Country) be in the Sheriff Country spinoff?

For those wondering about if Max will eventually make his way over to Sheriff Country for a cameo, you’re in luck. Per a report from Screen Rant, CBS revealed in a press release that Max Thieriot will reprise his role as Bode in the pilot episode of Sheriff Country.

Even though it’s unclear on exactly how Bode (and subsequently, Max) will be integrated into the Sheriff Country pilot, Max’s cameo isn’t the only thing the network decided to share. CBS also gave a quick synopsis of what fans can expect from the series premiere—and it’s already shaping up to be quite a dynamic show.

Per the same announcement, the first episode of Sheriff Country will follow Mickey as she “balances the demands of law enforcement with the complexities of motherhood, community politics and a past that won’t stay buried.” This all leads her to catch a young boy who’s stealing food, while simultaneously uncovering “a disturbing case of child abuse” that may potentially impact the lives of those involved.

Well, consider us intrigued for Sheriff Country this fall—and we can’t wait to see Max back in Edgewater, too!
