What’s the plot of Fire Country Season 2?

Fans were worried when the shocking finale of Season1 ended with Bode (Thieriot) taking the blame for falsifed drug charges so his best friend and fellow inmate, Freddy (Davis), could walk free. It seemed like Bode wasn’t just headed back to prison, but was also completely out of second chances. When Season 2 opens, set six months after the finale of Season 1, Bode’s at rock bottom: His best friend is on the outside; his ex-girlfriend, Gabriella (Arcila), is heartbroken; his parents, Vince (Burke) and Sharon (Farr), think he’s a liar and drug dealer; and his cellmate, Sleeper (Harvey), is the rat who sent him back to prison.

When a freak earthquake hits, Bode sees an opportunity to settle the score with his cellmate. Bode has nothing to lose — no one waiting for him on the oustide, no more fulfilling job as a first responder. But before he gets a chance, his childhood best friend Jake (Calloway) calls with a paternity bombshell: Bode might have a daughter to go home to. (Fans will remember Cara and Jake fighting about Bode’s possible paternity in the Season 1 finale.) Now his potential future as a father motivates him to change course. After forcing a confession from Sleeper in exchange for saving his life in the disaster, Bode gets a chance to return to Cal Fire. But when he returns to the place he feels most at home, he finds his ex caught up in a new affair and his daughter further out of reach than he thought. Bode’s path to make amends certainly won’t be easy.
