Virgin River’s Kai Bradbury entered the world of Virgin River in the very last
moments of season three and has gone on to be a pivotal part of the drama.
Denny Cutler’s (played by Kai Bradbury) arrival in Virgin River sent shockwaves
through a number of its residents after it transpired Doc (Tim Matheson) had a secret grandson. Completely unbeknownst to Doc and partner Hope McCrea (Annette O’Toole), Denny arrived to build bonds with his grandfather and all appeared to be going smoothly until season four dropped a huge revelation about the youngster.
Denny dropped the bombshell on local crush Lizzie (Sarah Dugdale) that he suffers from Huntington’s disease.
Season four saw him go behind Doc’s back to steal drugs from his medical practice only to be caught by Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge).
Doc all the while was trying to juggle helping Hope get back on track as she recovered from a traumatic brain injury.
Therefore, there was no shortage of gripping and emotional scenes between Denny, Doc and Hope and it’s a privilege which actor Bradbury holds close to his heart.
“It’s really just the coolest,” Bradbury said when asked what it was like to work with the two. “There’s no other way to express it.
“Their careers are just so amazing and inspiring, and I frequently check myself when I’m in my chair next to them (laughs)
“It’s really cool,” he continued on the Chatting with B podcast.
“And to have them as like grandparent figures on the show is just like a dream come true.
“Whenever we’ve got time, as I mentioned before, I love to just pick their brains for stories because they’ve just done it all and seen it all.
“Watching them work, I just learn so much from them,” Bradbury concluded as he paid tribute to his co-stars.
Bradbury will have plenty more scenes opposite O’Toole and Matheson when season five rolls around next year.
Only last month, the cast shared snaps from the set of Virgin River to confirm filming had ended and Bradbury was no different.
