New characters have entered season 5 of Virgin River on Netflix.

One of them is the mother of one of the residents of the small,

isolated Northern California town. And the two actresses had

already been very close for years, long before starring in the romantic series.
After numerous television appearances, Sarah Dugdale joined the cast of Virgin River on Netflix. Since the second season, the Canadian actress has played Lizzie, a rebellious young woman, who arrived in the small town of Virgin River after several escapades at her parents’ house. The teenager turned to Ricky, before succumbing to the charm of Denny, who is none other than Doc’s grandson. After a fourth season full of twists and turns, the pretty blonde was not at the end of her surprises during the new episodes of Virgin River, between the announcement of her pregnancy and the arrival of her mother, played by an actress with whom Sarah Dugdale has shared a strong bond for years.

While fans impatiently await the final episodes of season 5 of Virgin River, Sarah Dugdale paid tribute to the actress who lends her features to her mother in fiction, Debbie Podowski, whom she has known for many years. “Episode 3 of Season 5 of Virgin River was a special episode for me because I finally got to share the screen with my coach and mentor Debbie Podowski. We met when I was 14 and she m ‘has shaped me as an actress and pushed me to grow into the person I am ever since. She is nothing less than my family and playing with her on screen was one of the highlights of my career so far. Anyone who has the pleasure of knowing this woman should consider themselves lucky.” A message which did not fail to move Deirdre’s interpreter. “I love you! It was so easy to play with you on screen. So proud to be your fictional mother,” she reacted in a comment to the publication.

Virgin River: Sarah Dugdale wanted to reveal Lizzie’s past

It was during the fifth season, the first ten episodes of which were revealed on September 7, that Netflix subscribers discovered Deirdre, Lizzie’s mother. A character that Sarah Dugdale wanted to see arrive in Virgin River, as she explained in an interview with the Express.co.uk site. “I would also like to learn more about her parents and why she is the way she is. Maybe one of them would come to town, maybe she could talk more about the relationship she has with them because there’s a reason why she came in with all this baggage and this weight on her shoulder. I think it would be cool to show the audience why she is like that.”
