VIRGIN RIVER season 3 is just around the corner and fans are hoping
Jack survived the shooting. Will Jack choose Charmaine over Mel if he survives?
Virgin River season three is on the way for Netflix and the second season ended on a huge cliffhanger.
Jack Sheridan (played by Martin Henderson) was shot by an anonymous killer and his love interest Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) reached him just in time. If Jack lives to see another day, fans have suspected he may be in for a rude awakening.
Will Jack choose Charmaine over Mel?
Virgin River fans were left in shock after Jack was shot at his own bar at the end of season two.
Plenty of theories have suggested who was behind the attack, but fans can all agree Jack is likely to survive.
He and Mel are the stars of the series, so his character’s death would be a huge blow.
However, this does not mean Jack will get away lightly, as fans have suggested he may suffer some long-lasting effects.
One viewer suggested how Jack could suffer from amnesia as a result of the attack, and he may forget Mel altogether.
They said on Reddit: “Because true love always has obstacles, the injury Jack suffered will leave him with amnesia.
“He will remember Charmaine and not Mel. Charmaine will take advantage of Jack’s memory loss and she and Jack will move into Jack’s new house.
“While hurt that Jack does not remember her, Mel will do what she thinks best for Jack and back off.
“The new season will be lots of longing looks from Mel to Jack with Jack wondering why looks from Mel feel more ‘right’ than living together with Charmaine.
“As the season goes, Jack will regain his memory also I really hope the twins are not Jack’s.
“Now that Mel has found a second chance at love, I want any children that Mel could have to be fathered by Jack.”
Fans have shown their frustration over the love triangle between Jack, Mel and Jack’s ex-girlfriend, Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley).

While viewers found the amnesia theory interesting, one said they “could never buy” an amnesia plot.
Another said: “Your prediction is very interesting and I never thought about Jack’s injuries!
“Although I hope Jack doesn’t get amnesia, I can’t take it any more not seeing them be happy together!”
A third said: “Amnesia is such a funny idea! Very much a soap storyline. But I think it could work.
“The will-they-won’t-they moments of people nearly getting together are often more enjoyable than settling down. So the show needs to engineer that!
“That being said, I really want Jack and Mel to finally be happy together.”
The series is based on the books by Robyn Carr and in the novels, Charmaine only plays a small part.
With this in mind, it is unlikely Jack will choose Charmaine over Mel in the long run.
