Those in the know about what really happened to Anthony Fox (Nicholas Day) in Emmerdale have been living on tenterhooks at their cover being blown.
It’s been a hairy ride for the group, with Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) nearly blowing everything by threatening to go to the police, and Steph Miligan (Georgia Jay) blackmailing her parents that either she went to the police or they did.
Somehow, they’ve survived all the trials thrown at them, including Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) nearly losing the plot through guilt, and now they’re almost home and dry.
Who would have thought Jai (Chris Bisson) of all people would be the one to come along and rumble the plot that Chas, Cain, Aaron, John, Ruby, Caleb and Steph have so meticulously protected?
Jai’s Spidey senses have been tingling since he began getting suspicious of Steph and Caleb’s workplace behaviours. He twigged that neither were pulling their weight at the depot, so decided to take it upon himself to investigate why this might be.
Through his digging, he starts to find evidence of other foul play. He puts two and two together that it has something to do with Anthony’s disappearance.
When he finds Steph upset and in a vulnerable state, he jumps on the opportunity to squeeze her for information.
What he doesn’t know is that she has just learned that Anthony is in fact her father as he sexually abused her mother.

But while he might not yet realise that, he does notice that Steph flinches at every mention of Anthony’s name.
For him, this is proof. Knowing he’s hitting a nerve he presses her further.
Still in investigation mode, Jai next approaches Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) to tap into what she knows about Anthony’s whereabouts. Little does he know, Laurel believes she had a hand in it too, having nobbled him with a candlestick.
Jai is getting perilously close to the truth, and the group can’t risk their secret being discovered. Will Jai be dealt with?
