Dawn and Joe caught out by someone in Emmerdale – and now Billy knows

Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) is challenged by someone unexpected in Emmerdale soon, sparking Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) to make a worrying discovery.

When Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) told Billy that she no longer wanted to be married to him, she never really gave him a proper reason why.

As a result, it left him wondering if she had been having an affair behind his back. While this is true, Billy got the wrong man and accused Ross (Michael Parr) of sleeping with Dawn – not Joe.

Dawn and Billy are now trying to navigate their separate lives, while keeping children Clemmie, Lucas and Evan as comfortable as possible as the change takes place. Adapting to Dawn and Billy no longer being together has been particularly hard for Clemmie, who was adopted by the two characters after coming from a broken home.

The sudden upheaval left Clemmie wondering if Billy no longer loved the family and that she might get sent back into care.

Out of everyone in the village, it’s this young girl who spies Dawn and Joe together in upcoming episodes, leading to Joe taking drastic action to try and keep her quiet.

At Home Farm, after witnessing Dawn and Joe kiss, Clemmie refuses to go to school, pretending to be poorly.

With Dawn oblivious as to what’s going on, Joe checks on Clemmie, who then reveals what she saw.

Joe attempts to keep Clemmie sweet but she reacts badly and bites his arm. The next day, Joe arrives with a present for Clemmie but this is a smart girl – she knows the gift is only to keep her schtum, so she trashes it.

Annoyed at her, Joe tells Clemmie that if other people find out about the bite, she’ll get sent back into care. The youngster is devastated.

Clemmie is later found by Billy and eventually, she tells him about biting Joe and the threats. Furious that he stooped that low, Billy is further angered when Clemmie says that she saw Dawn kissing Joe.

Later that day, Billy offloads to Caleb (William Ash), who is more than happy to hear about how another person in the village hates Joe.

But will Billy go as far as getting revenge? Jay Kontzle told us about the moral dilemma his character will have:

‘He’s cautious about it because of the kids. It’s a juggle between what’s right and what’s wrong. What Joe has done is completely wrong so do you fight fire with fire, or do you see the logical approach and think of the children. The fact Joe has threatened Clemmie, and gone behind his back, it’s disrespectful and it feels like there should be some sort of repercussion from it.

‘In Billy’s eyes, he’s lost everything. He’s potentially going to lose his children as well, Billy will eventually have nothing.
