Here is what you need to know. Is Nish Panesar leaving EastEnders? While no official leaving date has been set, the storylines have been really amplifying the drama for one of Walford’s most unscrupulous characters. When Nish turned up on the doorstep claiming that the solicitors have sent him both copies of the divorce paperwork, Suki was sceptical, and the rest of the Panesars agreed to get the locks changed to stop him gaining access. Unfortunately, Nish wasn’t able to be stopped that easily, and he managed to manipulate Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) into letting him in. In today’s episode he used her as a pawn in his game again, as he asked her to track down an old friend of Suki’s, Ayesha, clearly as a way to get his own back.

Is Nish Panesar really dying? Now though, it’s been confirmed Nish Panesar was telling the truth about his ill health after all. In May, Nish was rushed to hospital after Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) shoved him into some chairs. When Ravi and Suki arrived, the doctor confirmed Nish’s heart diagnosis, allowing them to realise he wasn’t lying. The doctor then told Nish and the Panesars that he needs a heart transplant, but because he is so poorly, it’s unlikely they will find a donor in time.

It left Nish stunned, due to the fact he had previously been told he has years left to live. Ravi rallied around him, but Vinny and Suki continued with their false niceties to get on his good side. This week, Vinny threw Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) out of No. 41 in a bid to prove to his dad that he’s on his side. Priya was devastated by his actions, and pleaded with Nish to tell the truth surrounding the lie he’d spread about them sleeping together. When he remained defiant, she handcuffed him to the pipework in the Minute Mart and deprived him of his medication. Later, after being found, he kickstarted his revenge action plan.
