The new season will see a lot of change. Boden has gone, and he told Herrmann that he wanted to see Herrmann step up as Chief

That will mean Herrmann needs to do the Captain exam and then the Chief exam,

but Boden knows that Herrmann has what it takes. That’s despite Severide stepping

in as acting Chief while Boden had been away. Severide will have plenty to deal

with when the show comes back, though. We finally found out Damon’s secret. He is Severide’s half-brother. At least, that’s what he says, telling Severide that his abusive father was Benny Severide. We’ve heard Benny was a drunk and was hard on Severide now and then, but not abusive, so this is going to be an interesting turn of events.

Severide also told Kidd that he wanted to start a family with her. The ball is in her court, and I hope we see an actual conversation about this. We deserve to see a couple talk about having kids and what it would mean for Kidd, who is the one carrying the baby. Severide is under no impression that Kidd won’t have to make some sacrifices, which is why he put the ball in her court.
