The Fire Country Bombshell That Will Leave Gabriela With *No Choice* But To Shatter [Spoiler’s] Heart

The Season 2 finale of Fire Country promises a wedding,

but who Gabriela will end up with is still unknown.

In a recent teaser for the upcoming episode,

Bode might finally express his true emotions to his ex. Who does Gabriela end up with on Fire Country? Keep reading to learn more.

Fire Country is CBS’ drama series centered on Bode Donovan (Max Thieriot), a young convict with a troubled past, who volunteers for the California Conservation Camp Program, in which prisoners assist with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, also known as Cal Fire. Bode is assigned to his hometown in Northern California, where he must work alongside his family, former friends, and other inmates as they fight wildfires that plague the region.

After falling in love in Season 1, Bode and Gabriela Perez (Stephanie Arcila) went their separate ways in Season 2. In the six-month time jump between seasons, Gabriela started dating her colleague Diego (Rafael de la Fuente), a paramedic and firefighter who served as a medic in Afghanistan. Diego asked Gabriela to marry him in the Season 2 premiere. When Bode found out the news, he told Gabriela, “I’m so happy for you,” but deep down, it’s evident that he wanted to be with her.

While fans still hoped Gabriela and Bode would reconcile, Gabriela and Deigo’s relationship progressed throughout Season 2. Their wedding will take place in the Season 2 finale, but it might not be all sunshine and rainbows for the happy couple. Is there a chance that Bode will swoop in and tell his ex-girlfriend how he really feels?

“There will be a wedding,” Billy Burke, who portrays Bode’s dad, told TV Insider ahead of the finale. “What transpires at that wedding is in question, and Bode might be rethinking his relationship status in the whole scheme of what he’s got in front of him.”

CBS unveiled a sneak peek of the Season 2 finale, Episode 10, titled “I Do.” The teaser offers glimpses of the wedding festivities, accompanied by a moment where Bode’s friend Freddy urges him, “Go get your girl, Bode,” hinting at a potential interruption to the ceremony. Watch the clip below. The finale comes after Gabriela’s estranged mom (Paola Núñez) surprises her by showing up at the Firefighters’ Ball. After talking to her daughter’s exes, Bode and Jake (Jordan Calloway), she didn’t think things were over between her daughter and Bode.“I think that’s a special moment in the sense of, they haven’t had a lot of alone time together for a while,” Arcila said to TV Insider of that scene. “And at the end of the day, I think that Gabriela feels that she knows that Bode is a safe space when she needs to have a conversation or express herself with everything she’s going through. So I think it is going to be a bittersweet moment for the audience.”

As for the upcoming nuptials, Arcila continued, “Everyone is going to be shocked in every character, all the twists that come with each and every character. It’s a very emotional episode as well, especially for Manny [Kevin Alejandro]. And I don’t think people are going to expect what’s to come. It’s going to keep you on your toes.”

Stay tuned to learn who Gabriela will pick in the Season 2 finale, which airs on Friday, May 17 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
