Coronation Street pulled off air tonight – and ITV confirms when it will return

Coronation Street fans will have to adjust their viewing schedules as the popular soap will not be broadcast tonight in its regular Friday evening slot due to a significant reshuffle of ITV’s programming.

The beloved ITV soap was aired on Thursday, April 3, instead, to accommodate the UEFA Women’s Nations League match between England and Belgium.

Viewers who missed the episode can catch up on ITVX before the next instalment, which is scheduled to air as usual on Monday, April 7.

Emmerdale, another fan favourite, will also be affected by the changes, airing earlier than usual at 7pm tonight due to the football match. The show will return to its normal 7.30pm slot on Monday.

This scheduling change may disappoint soap enthusiasts, who experienced a similar disruption last month because of the World Cup Qualifier, reports Plymouth Live.

In upcoming Coronation Street episodes, Jack Webster (Kyran Bowes) is livid when his father Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) grounds him. Meanwhile, at the Rovers, Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) hesitates to serve Kevin, leading to a heated exchange involving Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall).

Abi Webster (Sally Carman) is shocked by Kevin’s harsh words and discusses his appalling behaviour with Tyrone.

Tyrone pays a visit to No. 13, encouraging Kevin to confront his fears, communicate with Abi, and start valuing his family and friends.

Meanwhile in Emmerdale, Sarah Sugden (played by Katie Hill) manages to distract Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) long enough to swipe his car keys. She then instructs Kammy (Shebz Miah) to steal Cain’s car from the garage for a joyride.

Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant), oblivious to Sarah’s involvement and having seen Kammy speed away in Cain’s vehicle, decides to alert the authorities.

Not long after, PC Swirling stops Sarah on a rural road while she’s behind the wheel of Cain’s car.

Despite her initial bravado, Sarah is swiftly brought down a peg or two when Swirling insists on inspecting the boot of the car.
