EASTENDERS’ Grant Mitchell desperately tries to save his brother Phil as he attempts to end his life in heartbreaking scenes next week.
As we get closer to the soaps 40th Anniversary and its exciting live episode, things are getting bleaker for Phil.



Recent scenes have shown Phil’s (SteveMcFadden) depression spiral completely out of control as he became a recluse.
He attempted to take his own life during a recent episode however Harry (Elijah Holloway) caught him just in time as he opened up The Arches.
Now in a worrying turn of events, he is refusing all help and turning his friends and family away – who will save him now?
In next week’s show, love is in the air in Albert Square as bride Honey and groom Billy get ready to tie the knot, with family and friends rushing around making the final preparations.
Everyone is determined to make this a Mitchell wedding to remember, especially since this is Billy and Honey’s fourth attempt to
walk down the aisle.
Will they finally say ‘I do’ after so many false starts over the years?
Grant tries to keep the mood light with Phil, who is struggling, especially when Lexi needs some help.
However, as the joyful festivities get underway, the Mitchells are totally unaware of the depths of Phil’s despair as he makes a decision.
In the next episode, Phil’s behaviour causes deep concern for those closest to him, with Linda becoming increasingly worried that he’s a danger to himself.
Her fears are exacerbated when she arrives at No.55 and finds evidence that provides a devastating insight into Phil’s state of mind.
