SOAPLAND is a funny old place where money means very little but there are still some very rich soap characters.
From Emmerdale where Kim Tate rules the roost to the surprisingly rich nurse Sonia in EastEnders, while
Coronation Street appears to have some hidden millions of their own.
But who is the richest soap character around? We take a look…
Ruby Fox-Miligan – millions
The newest member of the soap richlist is Ruby Fox-Miligan.
Born into wealth and a life of untold luxury, she gave it all up for rough round the edges – and also straight through – Caleb Miligan as a teenager.
The pair have built a nice life together with enough money for some very nice luxuries like a Bentley or two.
But now that her estranged mother Helen is dead, Ruby’s inherited a literal fortune, and while it’s not known how much it is exactly, it’s safe to say she’s got millions coming to her.
Kim Tate £30m
The reigning queen of soapland’s richlist, Kim Tate is filthy rich.
She originally stole millions from her husband Frank Tate’s business empire and spent the next 30 years growing it into a sizeable fortune of her own.
Now she’s sitting pretty on at least tens of millions with business interests across the world.
But her pride of joy remains Home Farm and it’s frankly massive estate that now includes a huge waterfall. Priceless!
Ruby Allen £10m
She’s not even back in Walford just yet but Ruby is one of the wealthiest people in Albert Square.
She inherited her dad Johnny Allen’s fortune, and parts of his criminal empire.
Ruby is easily the wealthest Walford resident and possibly also one of the most dim given she keeps returning where no-one likes her.
Gabby Thomas £4m
Vicar’s daughter Gabby is in a strange position of thinking herself a super businesswoman and protege of Kim Tate.
But her £4m fortune isn’t her own – and nor did she get it herself.
It came down to her grandmother Diane Sugden who negotiated with Kim Tate to slice a chunk of her fortune off for Gabby and her son Thomas Tate.
Still, Gabby spent it wisely on an outdoor pursuit centre that also serves pizzas. And only killed two customers so far.
Suki and Nish Panesar £4m
The gruesome twosome might be busy taking chunks out of each other but they’re intertwined more than anyone realises.
They both own half of the family businesses and homes meaning the Panesars are a financial force to be reckoned with.
