EASTENDERS fans have joked that the soap predicted ‘brat summer’ a year

ahead of it becoming a trend. During scenes that aired in 2023, young teen Lily

Slater gave birth to a baby girl, despite only being 13 herself. Viewers were left

surprised by the unusual name she gave her child. The baby was named Charli after British pop singer Charli XCX. The star became internationally recognised this summer for her sixth album, titled brat. Along with the music came a trend of spending the summer giving into hedonism and embracing chaos. read more in eastenders As the concept of ‘brat summer’ took off, Charli described a brat as: “This girl who goes to a rave and she is wearing a tank top.

“You can kind of see her nipples through it and she is sweaty but she is hot and she is dancing with her friends. “I was just piecing this all together and that allowed me to go and write more songs under this guise of, I know what this girl wants and that girl is me.” EastEnders viewers think the programme foretold the future when Lily held a gender reveal party for Charli and served guests a bright green cake. The colour went on to symbolise ‘brat summer’, and featured prominently in Charli XCX’s album artwork.

A soap fan took to X writing: “The gender reveal cake being BRAT green and then them naming the child Charli…” Jessica Alba dances to Charli XCX’s hit song Apple in small black bikini and says ‘heard it’s a Brat summer’ One shocked viewer replied: “Omg EastEnders predicted brat summer??” Another added: “The writers can see the future I fear.” A third pointed out: “And this was BEFORE brat too.”
