EastEnders’ Denzel Danes has been caught out, following Nugget Gulati’s collapse,
in the show’s latest episode. This week, Nugget was found unresponsive and was taken
to hospital, where his family found out that he had been taking steroids. In the latest
episode, Nugget woke up in hospital surrounded by his family, and he tried to deny his drug use when Ravi brought it up. While he eventually admitted to taking steroids, he refused to say who had given him the drugs, despite pressure from his dad. Meanwhile, Denzel and his family were in high spirits following his big win in the boxing ring, but he soon heard from Avani that Nugget was in hospital, and his family found out about the steroids. Ravi and Priya were told by the doctor that if Nugget’s kidneys didn’t show signs of improvement soon, they would have to make a plan for longer term dialysis. She also said that she had made a referral to social services and they had contacted the police – who shortly after arrived at the hospital to speak to Nugget.
The police were determined to catch the drug dealers, but Nugget told them some confusing lies to avoid getting Denzel in trouble. Denzel’s friends accused him of taking steroids and he denied it, but he panicked when Avani mentioned the police. Elsewhere, Ravi confronted Zack and Phil looking for Nugget’s dealer, while Zack apologised and said he had previously tried to help his son. Howie was suspicious that his son had been taking drugs and tried to get in touch, but Denzel headed to the gym to avoid him.
Zack covered for Denzel when Howie came looking for him, but once alone, Zack urged Denzel to tell him what was going on. Denzel explained the whole situation to Zack and he encouraged him to face up to things, so they headed to the hospital and Denzel told Ravi and Priya the truth. Ravi was furious with Denzel, and when the police arrived, he told them that it was Denzel who sold Nugget steroids. What will happen to Denzel now?
