Callum Highway (Tony Clay) finds himself in Priya Nandra-Hart’s (Sophie Khan Levy) firing line in EastEnders next week.
Viewers of the BBC soap have seen Priya struggle with her daughter Avani’s (Aaliyah James) behaviour in the wake of an incident at Walford police station last month.
The 15-year-old – alongside pals Lily Slater (Lillia Turner) and Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) – was carted off for questioning after some pills were found at her feet.
As viewers saw, none of the trio actually handled the drugs, as they were dropped by Avani’s vape dealer when he saw the police approaching.
As a result of her attitude and lack of cooperation at the station, officers claimed they had no other option but to search her for more narcotics.
The situation left her spooked, and she refused the guardianship from an appropriate adult in the room. Avani also didn’t realise that she would have to strip – even taking off her underwear – in front of two strangers.
Priya placed an official complaint, though was later told that it had been dropped.
The only way that it could be escalated further would be if Avani raised the issue herself – something which she bravely did after a conversation with Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter).
Unfortunately, in upcoming scenes, Priya learns that no further action will be taken.
She’s fearing the worst for Avani, who has taken to drink and drugs in the aftermath, and decides not to tell her. Later, she catches up with Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) and asks her not to spill either.
With the teens getting their friendship back on track, it doesn’t take long for the secret to out!
Priya is enraged by the decision, and charges down to the station to raise the matter again. She sees red, and Callum is forced to intervene.
To make matters worse, she then heads out to Harry’s Barn with Ravi (Aaron Thiara) and runs into Callum and his colleagues again.
Ravi has to step in when she lashes out, and both are left humiliated by her actions.
The next day, with a tail between her legs, she issues an apology to Callum following some much-needed advice from Suki (Balvinder Sopal).
Albert Square’s voice of reason Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) also steps in to offer some parenting tips.
