Nate’s death has been discovered in Emmerdale – finally! – and everyone knows that he didn’t just run off to Shetland without a backwards glance – he was murdered.
As everyone reeled from the news that Nate was murdered, Sarah was still planning her IVF adventure, and April took some of her power back.
Here’s everything that happened in our Emmerdale review of the week.

Ruby didn’t confess to Nate’s death in Emmerdale
We love Ruby Miligan, but even we have to admit she has a habit of jumping in with two feet. And never more than this week when she took herself off to the police station to confess to a murder the cops weren’t investigating.
Ruby was convinced the body that had been found in the lake was Anthony’s and so she got ahead of the detectives by fessing up to killing him. Except she didn’t actually know where the body had been found, because she didn’t actually put it there. Because it wasn’t actually Anthony. So it was all a bit of a muddle.
When it was revealed the body wasn’t Anthony, Ruby scurried off home, leaving the police to investigate Nate’s death instead!
Mystic Dingle
Before Ruby headed to the cop shop, Caleb was determined they were going on the run to avoid being arrested for Anthony’s murder. Cain had arranged for them to head off to Ireland to cousin Mystic.
Of course he had. There’s barely a Dingle in Britain who’s not hidden out at Mystic’s house at one time or another. In fact, we reckon PC Swirling’s probably got his colleagues in Ireland on speed dial and Mystic’s address saved on Google maps.
Perhaps it’s time for the Dingles to find another place to hide.
Or just stop committing crimes. Either or.

Joe Tate’s time-management skills impressed as he got involved in Nate’s death in Emmerdale
While Ruby was being quizzed by the police, an upset Steph bumped into Joe Tate and told him what was going on. Joe swung into action.
In no time at all, he’d found a contact in Malaga. He’d got said contact in Malaga to get hold of a fake passport in Anthony’s name, and then take that fake passport to a police station in Spain and pretend to be Anthony. The Spanish police then contacted the police in Hotten and Ruby was released.
Joe being Joe, he managed to make all this long complicated fandango happen in the space of about half an hour. We were impressed. It was Belle-driving-to-Shetland-in-an-afternoon levels of time management.
Or was it? Maybe it was Anthony who strolled into that Malaga police station after all? Someone being alive when everyone thought they were dead isn’t that outlandish a story for Emmerdale. Just ask Joe Tate!

April’s torment
We’ve said this before but we’re saying it again. April is great. Her torment is being depicted so well. We cheered when she stood up to the horrible bloke who’d exposed himself to her. But the whole thing is just a bit, well, manufactured (yes, we know everything in Emmerdale is fictional!).
Her family life was fractious and her grief over her mum’s death was hard, but her home life was not worse than life on the streets. It just wasn’t. Even her pregnancy – which was a huge burden for her – would have been a shock for Rhona and Marlon, but they’d have coped.
And likewise, we’re not teachers but we know schools are super-understanding about students’ issues nowadays. There’s no way April would have been thrown back into school without help, and certainly no way she’d have been expected to take exams like nothing had happened.
The whole issue seems to have been dropped in just to make April’s life more difficult. It’s a plot attached to a character who just happens to be the right age, rather than the character leading the plot.

Dawn’s projections
Remember when Dawn wanted to be a veterinary nurse? She was doing exams and all sorts. And now she’s a wedding planner and says words like “projections”.
Meanwhile Ms Business Brain 2025, Belle Dingle, believes that Dawn managed to sort out a business loan in an evening when the banks were shut.
Dawn assured Belle that of course she didn’t ask Joe for the cash. She promised she wouldn’t. And it’s not like he’s RIGHT THERE with his seemingly limitless funds, fondness for manipulation, and excellent time-management skills. No siree. This money came from the bank. Honest.

Kerry and Eric
Eric Pollard is a stubborn, infuriating man and we absolutely adore him. We love his relationship with Kerry – it’s really working for us and it’s good that Kerry has something to do now Amy’s gone.

Amy didn’t reveal Nate’s death in Emmerdale after all
Speaking of Amy, we’re a bit disappointed that her croaky final words to Matty, when she managed to say “Nate” actually didn’t matter at all.
And we’re slightly worried that when Matty finds out about Nate’s death (where is Matty? Has anyone told him the news?!) he’ll remember Amy saying Nate’s name and feel bad that he didn’t tell anyone about it.
There’s support and there’s support, Charity
Sarah’s determination to be a mum is just a bit odd. And selfish. And weirdly proves that she wouldn’t be a very good mum, because she’s not thinking about her unborn child in all this at all.
But anyway, Charity was given a telling off by her own child, erm, we mean husband Mack. Who is not a fine example of fatherhood but there we go.
Mack told her to support Sarah, and so instead of just saying ‘fine, do it, I’ll support you’, Charity OFFERED TO PAY for the super-expensive IVF that Sarah’s planning. Where she’s going to find that wonga we don’t know.
