Coronation Street’s Colson Smith has been inundated with messages after he shared a sneak peek into what he’s up to after leaving the soap. The actor recently wrapped up filming on the ITV drama, following the decision by the showrunners to conclude the journey of his character, Craig Tinker, after a 13-year stint.
Earlier this year Colson announced that his much-loved character would be phased out of the long-standing series in 2025, just shy of completing 14 years in the role. In a statement posted on X and Instagram, accompanied by a photo of him in character as police officer Craig, Colson said: “Autumn last year I was told that Craig Tinker’s time on the Cobbles is to come to end in 2025.
“I’ve loved every single second of my 14 year stay as a resident on the greatest street in the world. I feel incredibly lucky to have grown up in, on and around Coronation Street.
“I’ve learned pretty much everything about life from the people who call it home. I’m excited to play out the exit story for Our Craigy.”
The 26-year-old added: “For Me, this is just the end of the beginning. I genuinely can’t wait to see what chapter two has in store for me. LONG LIVE THE COBBLES!”..
Following his final day on set on Friday, March 21, Colson shared a picture on Instagram of himself seated above the Rovers Return sign. The popular Celebrity Big Brother 2024 participant expressed their affection for the iconic TV show with a heartfelt post, writing: “CORONATION STREET I LOVE YOU, THANK YOU,” accompanied by an orange heart emoji.
Nevertheless, it appears that Colson is taking on new adventures. Colson recently joined his sister Hannah, who is a vet, at the farm for lambing season.
Embracing the rural experience, Colson shared snapshots on Instagram, captioning them: “Spent my Sunday delivering lambs. Midwife mode: activated.”
This prompted an influx of comments from followers.
