EastEnders has released a new trailer previewing the groundbreaking interactive love triangle involving Denise Fox.

As the BBC soap’s big 40th anniversary approaches, one of the major storylines in the huge week of episodes will be Denise’s decision between her two love interests, Ravi Gulati and Jack Branning.

But in a groundbreaking twist, the show is putting the decision in the hands of the viewers, who will be able to vote for which of the two men they want Denise to pick.

In this week’s episodes, Denise and Ravi’s secret relationship was exposed, and a row with Jack in The Vic led Denise to claim that she was done with both men.

Now EastEnders has premiered a new trailer teasing what is to come, with the tagline, “Denise Decides. You Choose.”

The promo shows Denise walking through the Square while receiving several text messages from both Jack and Ravi as Whitney Houston’s ‘How Will I Know’ plays.

As both Jack and Ravi appear, Denise has no idea which way to turn. The trailer ends with the words “you choose”.

The vote will officially open on the EastEnders website at 8.30pm on Wednesday, February 19, straight after the hour-long episode on the official 40th anniversary of the show.

Viewers can make their choice until 7.10pm on Thursday, February 20, just 20 minutes before the exciting live episode. The cast and crew will then be informed of the result, before performing the audience’s preferred outcome.

On being at the centre of this interactive story, actor Diane Parish said: “It’s a blessing. I’ve been blessed throughout my time in EastEnders, particularly in the last few years. I think Chris Clenshaw understands Denise better than anybody, and he’s gifted me with the most exciting two years of my time on the show to date.”

“There is the physical attraction between Ravi and Denise,” said Aaron Thiara, “but that’s only one part of it. The first time they were drawn together, they were two lost souls who understood each other. There is a deeper understanding between them that the rest of the Square doesn’t understand.”

Meanwhile, Scott Maslen explained Jack and Denise’s current dynamic, saying: “There’s this natural warmth between them, even though they’re not together right now. I don’t think Jack believes this relationship is past the point of no return – yet! He wants to put his family back together.”
