Emmerdale‘s Chas Dingle has issued a dark warning over the cover-up of Anthony Fox’s death.
In last night episode, Anthony’s real killer was revealed after Ruby Fox-Miligan admitted she was responsible for her father’s death. Ruby and Caleb Miligan planned to remove the body but returned to find Aaron Dingle and his boyfriend John Sugden had already disposed of it.
Aaron – who thought he had killed Anthony – was furious at the revelation and the argument was overheard by Chas who demanded answers.
Tonight’s episode saw the walls closing in on Chas, Caleb, Ruby, John and Aaron as they frantically continued their cover-up. Ruby and Caleb were visited by the police who informed them about Laurel attacking Anthony.
“Ms Thomas said she assaulted your father because she was defending her friend,” the officer told Ruby. “We’ve also been told her friend wrongly thought Anthony was a risk to her daughter.”
Later, Ruby told Steph about the assault and informed her it was self-defence as Anthony had attacked Nicola. “They were scared because they thought Grandad was a child abuser and he was tutoring her daughter,” said Ruby.
“I know he is capable of violence,” she added, before revealing that Anthony used to beat her and her mum when she was a child. However, Steph was reluctant to believe the accusation and left the room.
Meanwhile, after hearing about the suspected abuse, Marlon feared Anthony was connected to April’s disappearance. “What if he befriended April, got her on her own… or something worse?” he said.
Stressed Marlon questioned Laurel, Nicola and Chas about Anthony’s “dodgy” departure and said he was going to the police, but Caleb talked him out it.
At The Woolpack, Chas issued a warning to Caleb about the cover-up, telling him that Aaron was her priority. “The whole thing’s a house of cards, Caleb. Today proves it. One wrong word and the whole thing crumbles.”
