Emmerdale offers a first possible hint at Gail Loman’s exit plot in tonight’s episode.
Gail makes some ominous comments as she reveals that she’s been offered a new opportunity away from the village, which leaves her future with boyfriend Ryan Stocks uncertain.
The dilemma unfolds as Gail is starting to feel under-appreciated by Ryan too – and in her role as barmaid at The Woolpack.
After tensions with Ryan’s mum, Gail complains to her partner: “Charity has me holding the fort a lot these days, which I love, but…
“I spoke to my mate Frannie yesterday. She’s taking over her dad’s B&B down in Devon and she’s asked me if I want to run it with her.
“I told her no, obviously. She knows the dream is for you and me to run this place [The Woolpack] eventually. But the way Charity’s treating me, I’ve got half a mind to call her back and tell her I’m in.”
Later in the episode, Gail’s issues with Charity only get worse as the no-nonsense Dingle starts to become a nightmare boss.
Spoilers for next week’s episodes have revealed that Gail will ultimately start to doubt her future with Ryan when they play a couple’s game together at Mandy Dingle’s salon.
Gail isn’t impressed by Ryan’s answers and she soon tells him that she doesn’t think they love each other any more.
Is this all about to culminate in Gail deciding on that fresh start in Devon?
Last month, it was revealed that Rachael Gill-Davies – who plays Gail – is leaving Emmerdale, six years after her first appearance on the soap.
It’s thought that the door will be left open for Gail to make a possible return in the future.
