In a shocking turn of events in Emmerdale, Robert Sugden teamed up with Kim Tate to sell the fields he had literally just bought from Moira.

Earlier this week Robert stole the weed from Lewis, Mack and Ross and then sold it all to Ray. And he had one goal in mind – buying Annie’s field from Moira.

He gave her a sob story of living up to his family’s name and wanting to do some good. But soon after she agreed, we saw Robert at Home Farm celebrating with Kim Tate, who had bought the land from him.

But Robert assured Kim that he was just getting started. So what exactly is his plan? Let’s have a look at the theories.

Robert building a new Sugden legacy with Kim in Emmerdale?

While the story he told Moira about wanting to do his family name proud seemed like a lie, perhaps Robert is trying to build a legacy back. But just not in farming.

Rob spent some time telling Victoria that he doesn’t see himself as a farmer. So maybe his plan involves him creating a new Sugden legacy – rather than focussing on the past.

We still don’t know the ins and outs of his and Kim’s pairing. There is a chance that while she may own the fields now, Robert could still run it. And if so, that would bring him into the Home Farm sector a lot more. The only issue is we’re not sure if Robert would like Kim basically being his boss…

Working with Caleb

Some fans have wondered if Robert is secretly working with Caleb in Emmerdale – not Kim.

Recently Caleb and Ruby received some land from Kim after the whole kidney theft situation. And now even more fields have come into the mix.

Then some noticed that Caleb showed up looking for Kim not too long before Robert did. But he refused to tell Joe what he wanted.

We know Caleb didn’t actually want to let Robert go, but he had to because of John’s blackmail. But perhaps he found a completely different way to work with him under the radar.

And both are very good schemers…

Is Robert trying to take Home Farm from Kim in Emmerdale?

Every time Robert is in the village, he does always seem to be connected to Home Farm. And he’s always determined to get his hands on the big house.

So perhaps he is working secretly against Kim. And his motive is to take-over from her. One thing Robert is great at is scheming, so there is always a chance he is playing everyone involved.

Having had six years inside, Robert has had enough time to create a plan that puts him in charge. While a Robert and Kim partnership in Emmerdale would be quite iconic, there is every possibility that Rob is working for one person – himself.

But if he crosses Kim and gets caught – that’s a show-down we don’t want to miss.

Winning Aaron back

Robert’s mega-plan may actually be a way to show his ex-husband that he has gotten his life together.

Within minutes of returning Robert made it clear he was never going to give up on trying to win Aaron back. While he may have said he’ll back off, history shows they can’t stay away from each other.

But Robert may want to be more in control of his life by the time Robron reunite. When he got out of prison, he was experiencing nightmares and lashing out at people. So maybe he’s focussing his energy somewhere else so that he can have more to offer Aaron in the long-run. And let’s face it, John will hate seeing Robert thrive – which will only fuel Rob’s flame.

Taking down John Sugden

Another thing Robert has made clear he will do is figure out John’s plan. But with John keeping everyone in the dark to his murderous secret, it’s looking harder than expected.

Last week, Robert lost a game of chess to John, but he told Harry that sometimes you have to lose the smaller battles in order to win the war.

So, he clearly has a plan on taking his half-brother down. And there’s a good chance it’s already in motion…
