Emmerdale fans have predicted that Anthony Fox’s body will show up as John Sugden’s mystery exit begins to “unravel” down the line.
Actor Oliver Farnworth joined Emmerdale in 2024 as John Sugden, the mysterious newcomer of the village. While being the half-brother of Victoria Sugden, he remained quite private with no one knowing that much about him.
Despite this, he soon struck up a relationship with Aaron Dingle and the pair recently got married even with the unexpected arrival of Robert Sugden.
Robert returned just before the couple were about to say their vows, and Aaron was less than pleased to see his ex-husband. Robert had been released from prison on appeal after departing from the ITV soap back in 2019.
While John seems to have won Aaron’s affections so far, there are many more secrets that could put his relationship in jeopardy.
When he first entered the village, he informed Aaron and Victoria that his ex-Army friend Aidan Moore died while at war. However, it was later revealed that Aidan never died, and he was actually lay in a hospital bed in a coma for the last few years.
Not only that, but he was John’s ex-fiancé, and viewers soon found out that John was the reason Aidan was fighting for his life.
John may have decided against k.i.l.l.i.n.g Aidan when he woke up just before the wedding, but Nate Robinson still died at his hands as flashbacks revealed.
Nate was supposed to be leaving for Shetland last year for a new job opportunity. However, as John tried to save him as he was injured, Nate had an adverse reaction to whatever the medic injected him with, and he died.
John then tied his body up with chains and dumped him in the lake – the same lake that has since been dredged and Nate’s body found.
However, there’s only so long that John’s secrets can be kept, and fans think that the discovery of Anthony Fox’s body will help to lead to his exit.
Viewers may recall that John helped dispose of Anthony’s body when Aaron thought he had k.i.l.l.e.d him. It turned out to be Ruby Miligan who had k.i.l.l.e.d her abusive father, but John had still hidden the body.
He hasn’t told the rest of the group where the body has been hidden and with the police believing that Anthony is living a new life in Spain, thanks to Joe Tate, will his body ever be found?
On a Reddit thread, u/No-Tangerine624 wrote: “I really thought there was going to be a twist with Anthony’s body because why else would they make john keep it such a secret, and with the whole thing a few weeks ago of digging up the ‘grave’. But now it feels like that storyline has closed and we will never find out where it is…”
Another viewer, u/holdontothatthought replied: “I think that Anthony’s body will eventually be found disposed of in a similar manner + materials to Nate’s, so that when it’s all said and done and John is exiting the soap, the police will count it in with the crimes that John has done.”
u/letitsing continued: “I don’t think it’s over yet. I think either the body will turn up at the same time that it’s all unravelling for John so they’ll pin it all on him, or it will turn out that he’s still alive.”
