The Mitchells are set to take centre stage in next week’s EastEnders as the past is revisited for Harry while Phil struggles to adjust to his life in the mental health unit.
On Monday (March 17), its the fourth anniversary of Shireen’s disappearance, and tensions begin to rise at her ex-boyfriend Harry Mitchell’s (Elijah Holloway) house.
While at the Arches, Harry gets an unexpected visit from Shireen’s brother, Asad, who reveals he no longer believes he was involved in Shireen’s disappearance.
But it appears the Mitchell name isn’t in the clear yet as Asad arrives at Shireen’s vigil at Harry’s Barn, hosted by Nicola (Laura Doddington).
Chaos soon erupts when Asad accuses Teddy (Roland Manookian) of Shireen’s murder, but Harry steps in to protect his dad as Teddy denies Asad’s claims.
Back at the house, Harry begs Teddy for the truth while his mum Nicola visits a mysterious Benji and demands to know where Shireen is.
Back at home, Teddy catches Nicola on the phone to a drug supplier and she’s forced to admit to dealing.
However, when Harry picks a fight with Felix Baker (Matthew James Morrison) while under the influence at The Albert, Nicola and Teddy drag him home. Nicola also tries to convince Teddy to withdraw his support of Junior’s business plans.
After admitting to Sharon at the Boxing Den that he still cares for her, Teddy confirms his business deal with Junior and keeps it a secret from Nicola.
Elsewhere, Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) begs Billy (Perry Fenwick) to tell Lexi (Isabella Brown) about Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), but he’s adamant she doesn’t need to know.
Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley) nearly slips up, angering Billy, before finding Lexi reading one of the letters Phil wrote on the night of his suicide attempt, but confuses her for Clare.
Lexi flees to Billy, convinced that Phil has died, and Billy confronts Nigel. Back at home Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) arrives to support Nigel as she knows about his dementia diagnosis.
Honey and Sharon tell Billy that Callum (Tony Clay) will tell Lexi the truth, while the whole group heads to Phil’s mental health unit to visit him.
In a special on Thursday, EastEnders will follow Phil’s journey in the mental health unit over the course of four weeks, with Phil meeting a new friend Gaz (Keith Allen)
With Phil facing his inner trauma during his stay, his support worker Yasmin helps him see that he’s ready to leave the unit.
The Walford legend listens to voicemails from Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) and Nigel before discharging himself. But where does he go?
Elsewhere, the plans for Martin Fowler’s (James Bye) funeral plans continues by Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton) is left refusing to let Jean Slater (Gillian Taylforth) help with arrangements. Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) steps in to give Jean some helpful advice.
But the peace is short lives as Jean and Ruby continue to clash over Martin’s funeral plans and Kathy gets caught in the middle. Meanwhile, Lily Slater (Lillia Turner) is struggles to cope with the loss of her dad.
