Rhona’s secret is betrayed in Emmerdale amid April’s disappearance

Alongside Gus was his pregnant partner Lucy. Previously,

the couple had visited Rhona and asked if they could use

her frozen embryos so they could become parents. Rhona said no, so Gus committed fraud and stole the embryos behind her back.

Lucy died shortly after giving birth to a baby girl called Ivy. It then left Rhona in a complete legal and ethical mess. On the one hand, Rhona wasn’t connected to the baby by law, but she was biologically related to her – which was enough to drive Rhona’s need to see the little one.

As a result of a spiralling and grieving Gus, seeing Ivy wasn’t easy. A very desperate Rhona then resorted to taking her daughter.

Again, morals were tested because for Rhona, she wasn’t doing anything wrong as Ivy is biologically her child but to Gus and the law, it was kidnap.

Rhona finds Marlon in the pub back room in Emmerdale
April has been missing since Christmas Day

The storyline ended when Gus was sentenced to eight years in prison and Rhona was given custody of Ivy.

While the family have moved on, the ordeal will be revisited in upcoming episodes, as Rhona’s past gets connected to April Windsor’s (Amelia Flanagan) disappearance.

The teenager vanished on Christmas Day and hasn’t been seen since. With Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) and Rhona’s search for their daughter now sparking interest away from the village, it allows rumours and horrible accusations to spread.

When Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) pops by, she informs Marlon that someone has written an article about Rhona on the Hotten Courier website.

Once Rhona is informed, she’s stunned to discover her past is being used to cast aspersions about her being responsible for April’s disappearance.

The next day, Rhona starts to realise that someone she knows sold her story to the press.

But who was it?
