A number of lives are set to be at risk in Emmerdale next week
as a limo full of villagers plunges into an icy lake.
To tease the exciting stunt, Emmerdale has released a haunting
trailer that sees a Valentine’s balloon leave float out of the Woolpack, before landing beside the crashed limo on the icy lake.
As if that image wasn’t spooky enough, it soon becomes clear that someone is set to be trapped under the ice, as a hand desperately scratches at the surface from beneath the water.
A second trailer is set to follow next week, giving viewers even more insight into how events are set to unfold.
‘We wanted to create something that would really grab our audience’s attention and hint at the scale of what’s coming,’ producer Laura Shaw enthused.
‘These promos perfectly capture the tension and suspense of our February storylines.’
Things are chaotic in the Emmerdale village next week as two groups make their way to the two waiting limos ready to enjoy a fun night out.
However, things soon turn disastrous when one of the limos careens onto the frozen lake, leaving countless lives at risk.
The cast are particularly excited about this special stunt, with Liam Cavanagh actor Jonny McPherson saying: ‘This is the first time I’ve done something of this magnitude stunt wise.
‘Our DOP (Director of Photography) Chris Ramage told me that a lot of the shots are the best he’s seen in his 30 years here at Emmerdale.’
‘The filming was amazing,’ William Ash, who plays Caleb Miligan, enthused.
‘We did almost two weeks of night shoots filming the crash of the limo.
Basically the boys and girls all go on a massive night out together. The girls all in one limo, and the boys in another. They all set off and then there’s this huge crash.
‘It is the middle of winter, we filmed it up on this car park which had been converted into a huge ice lake, made of wax. It was just incredible, no expense spared. And it was amazing.’
Meanwhile, Vanessa Woodfield actress Michelle Hardwick teased ‘a lot of jeopardy’, while Matty Barton star Ash Palmisciano promised, ‘the cliff hanger is one of the best ones we’ve had in a long time’.
