Laurel’s Storyline Takes A Dark Turn

In the previous episodes, we have already seen Laurel allowing Anthony to help her son Arthur with Maths. Laurel has had no doubt about his intentions. She even recommended him to Nicola King for Angelica, but unfortunately, they had no clue about his predatory nature. However, the truth begins to surface when Chas Dingle informs Nicola about what Anthony did to his own daughter, Ruby.

Nicola returned, charged Anthony, and asked him to leave—Laurel followed her. Seeing his truth exposed, Anthony tries to get back at Nicola—but fortunately, Laurel arrives and thumps on Anthony with a candlestick stand. Though Laurel thinks she has killed him, it has only made him unconscious.

Later, when Anthony dies, Laurel becomes one of the prime suspects as she clearly holds a grudge against him. But Charlotte Bellamy, who plays Laurel, has an entirely different theory. From Laurel’s perspective, Charlotte thinks of Anthony as a lovely gentleman who is helping her son with tuition and never has any suspicious feelings about him.

However, she has to attack him when she sees he is putting Nicola in trouble. She added when Laurel came to know about what he did to his daughter, Ruby—she was more in shock than in disgust. The actor finally said that she would be very surprised if “honest” turned out to be the responsible one—it would be hard for her to believe.
