While in upcoming episodes the finger will be pointed at Ella due to her history with both Chas and Liam, some fans are still suspicious of John.
Oliver Farnworth made his Dales debut in 2024 after previously starring in ITV’s rival soap, Coronation Street where he was killed off by Pat Phelan – twice.
Although he’s since struck up a romance with Aaron Dingle, not much is known about the character. Fans expressed their distrust after he was quick to clear up the body of Anthony Fox, as well as him being the last villager to speak to Nate Robinson before his body was spotted at the bottom of the frozen lake.

@LisasCrisps added: “Idk how, but this is John’s fault!” @DionPetrie asked: “Does John have one of those hero homicide complex’s?”
Another viewer, @penniless_poet theorised: “John aka Dr Death is going to fix Chas up and Chas will be grateful and crush him to her ample bosom and will welcome him to the family… Until they find out he did Nate in” as @chockies20 questioned: “is there anyone that has collapsed and John hasn’t happened to be there to sort it?”
