Paddy attacked in Emmerdale
Monday’s episode saw the introduction of farmer Celia Daniels. All her scenes took place in rural locations – namely Moira’s farm and on her own land.
We first met her when she approached Moira, Mack and Robert at one of Moira’s barns to enquire about renting a couple of her fields. It was a firm no from Moira Dingle, who’d heard about Celia and did not like the lowball offer.
Celia’s next interaction with a villager came on the lane next to her land, where she came across Paddy sitting in his car. The two had cross words before Celia headed back to her farm.
Paddy was about to leave, but then spotted a sheep caught in the fence on the edge of Celia’s farm. The vet immediately went to help the sheep and was successful.
However, as he watched the sheep run back to her flock, a dog jumped the fence and launched itself at Paddy. The dog brutally attacked Paddy, leaving him out cold on the floor. Fortunately Paddy’s dad Bear was on hand to stop the attack getting any worse, but Paddy still found himself in need of a blood transfusion.

Emmerdale fans praise “normal” episode
Following the airing of Monday’s episode, Emmerdale fans took to social media to share their joy at the latest instalment.
One fan wrote on Reddit: “A fairly almost normal episode of Emmerdale, who knew? Honestly more of this that’s all I gotta say.”
A second viewer wrote: “I thought today was a really solid episode. It felt refreshing to see so many farming and rural-based scenes. I often think modern Emmerdale forgets its USP is the countryside setting. Lots of potential for storylines that the other soaps simply can’t do.”
Despite the brutal dog attack, fans felt that that added to the episode and described it as a realistic storyline. A third fan said: “I know it sounds daft but can I also say it felt so realistic that Paddy was involved in a dog attack compared to the recent motorbike race & boxing events we’ve seen.”
Over on X, another fan made a joke about “a lesser spotted Sheep, rare in the farming world called… Emmerdale,” while a fifth fan encouraged the soap to go back to its farming ways. They wrote: “Emmerdale could very easily get back to its country ways and still have its current storylines play out. The show needs farming back to be earthed back in realism.”
