Emmerdale has aired an explosive row between Vanessa Woodfield and Tracy Robinson, following Tracy’s arrest.
After the body of her estranged husband Nate was recovered from the lake, Tracy became the prime suspect in the murder investigation. The police searched her house and discovered Nate’s phone, which had been planted there by the real killer John Sugden.
In yesterday’s episode, Tracy lied about her whereabouts on the day Nate was believed to have been killed, telling the police that she’d had dinner with Vanessa and her son Johnny.
However, hesitant Vanessa failed to convincingly back up her sister’s alibi, leading to Tracy’s arrest.
In tonight’s episode, Tracy returned home after being released pending further investigation. She was visited by a guilty John, who said he knew she was innocent, but didn’t confess to the crime.

Meanwhile, Cain and Tracy, who both suspect each other of Nate’s murder, faced off again as they tried to find out the truth.
“We both thought him and Moira were having an affair and on the day he died, there was only one person in the world who hated him as much as I did, and that was you,” said Cain.
Later, when Vanessa got back from work, she and Tracy had a heated row, with Tracy declaring she couldn’t trust her own sister before bursting into tears.
Vanessa comforted her, insisting that she knew Tracy didn’t kill Nate, but Tracy replied: “Then why the hell couldn’t you just lie and say you were with me when he died?”
Vanessa explained her reasoning, claiming her diary proved they weren’t together at Nate’s exact time of death. However, Tracy was adamant that she could have simply altered the diary to match her alibi.
When Tracy then asked for help proving Cain is the guilty party, a reluctant Vanessa suggested getting a lawyer instead. Furious Tracy declared that the only person on her side is John, causing Vanessa to storm off.
Will John’s presence cause a further rift between the sisters?
