Emmerdale viewers are speculating that Joe Tate’s kidney transplant may ultimately lead to his demise, courtesy of a sinister twist by Dr. Crowley.
Recently, it was revealed that Joe (played by Ned Porteous) was in dire need of a kidney transplant to survive, as his organs continued to fail.
After discovering that his half-brother Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) wasn’t a match, Joe set his sights on his uncle Caleb Miligan (William Ash).
When Joe’s attempt to spike Caleb’s drink went awry, he resorted to more violent means, enlisting the help of Shaun to stab Caleb and steal his car.
Emmerdale: Joe talks to his doctor
On Thursday’s episode (March 27), Dr. Crowley (James Hillier) was left reeling as he fought to keep Caleb alive and harvest his kidney for Joe.
In a twisted turn of events, Joe had Caleb’s kidney implanted, with Dr. Crowley assuring him that the organ was unharmed.
However, fans are now convinced that Dr. Crowley may have implanted Caleb’s damaged kidney, which was injured during the stabbing, and that this will ultimately seal Joe’s fate.
One fan shared their theory on Facebook, writing: “My theory is that Joe received Caleb’s damaged kidney and it’s going to fail… Devine Retribution..”, reports Leeds Live.
One person added their view: “Good serve him right”, joined by another who commented: “We can only hope that it doesn’t work and he’s put himself and others at risk. Karma will prevail in the end.”
A different commenter noted: “The kidney wasn’t damaged”, with someone else pointing out the potential complications: “But it could still fail. The police will want Joe as a witness to the attack and what are they going to say sorry he is in hospital after a kidney transplant lol.”
Expressing a less sympathetic stance, one individual exclaimed: “I hope it does horrible man”.
