Emmerdale bosses may have given ITV viewers a significant clue regarding the paternity of April Windsor’s baby.
The young girl bolted from the boy back in December, and it was only much later revealed that she had become pregnant and was too frightened to confide in anyone about it.
Tragically, April suffered the loss of her stillborn daughter and has kept the father’s identity under wraps. However, the latest instalment of the ITV soap might have just nudged viewers toward who he could be.
During a social event at Arthur Thomas’ place alongside other teens, an inquiry by a lad named Ben to April about the baby’s father left the group visibly uneasy.

April, clearly irritated by the question, tersely responded no before swiftly exiting the scene. But it was a subtle reaction within the group that may have subtly disclosed who the father is.
As part of their exchange, Ben pressed April with “Do you still see the baby’s dad? You know the one…” where she sharply retaliated, “Yeah I’m familiar with the one, and no I don’t.”, reports the Mirror.
At that moment, as the camera shifted focus precisely when the topic of the baby’s father arose, it landed on another teenager, Kai. His demeanour went beyond simple discomfort—it was sheer alarm, suggesting he might be the father in question.
Kai’s reaction could have been just due to the tension of the situation, but the deliberate camera work leading to him at that precise moment was telling. Reinforcing suspicions, Kai later sought a private word with April in the kitchen.
He expressed his desire to check on her and suggested she didn’t need to sit in the kitchen alone. She hinted that she was waiting for him to join her, a notion he disagreed with before starting to question her about various matters.
Kai assured April that no one judged her for her past experiences. However, as he continued to probe, she asked him to stop, promising him a “offering him a reward” if he ceased his questioning.
Later, Marlon Dingle arrived at the house looking for April.The scene showed Arthur and others appearing anxious and uncomfortable, with Ben smirking when Marlon questioned Arthur about his daughter’s whereabouts. At that moment, April and Kai descended the stairs, leaving April embarrassed and prompting her to exit the house.
The episode hinted that the two may have been intimate, leading to Marlon’s anger over his daughter having sex in their friend’s home. But could these scenes suggest that Kai is the unknown father of the baby?
Fans remain sceptical about April’s claim that the father was “some random” from a party whose name she doesn’t recall.
