EastEnders legends Natalie Cassidy and Patsy Palmer have confirmed that they have filmed exits for their characters Sonia Fowler and Bianca Jackson.
It was announced back in January that Natalie would be leaving her iconic role in upcoming scenes, which led fans to speculate that Sonia might die in the dramatic pub explosion during the anniversary episodes.
Thankfully Sonia survived and gave birth to her baby girl Julia in the rubble. But her exit is still imminent and Natalie revealed on the latest episode of her podcast Off The Telly that she has now filmed her final scenes.
Speaking to co-host Joanna Page, she said: “I went to the nail shop this morning to get new nails and I got my hair done, because yesterday I left EastEnders.”
Natalie, who this week revealed that she has written her first book, explained: “I feel really good, I feel really excited. It was a brilliant day at work. I haven’t shed a tear, which is strange. I don’t know when that’s coming.
“But I’ve had the most beautiful presents and cards from everybody. We had a soiree last night which was absolutely lovely. I did my scenes that were really lovely. And it’s just brilliant. I feel really excited now for the next chapter.”
Meanwhile, it also seems that Patsy has confirmed the end of her latest stint as Bianca, after she first returned in March 2024 as part of her step-daughter Whitney’s exit story.
Patsy recently posted a picture of her alter ego on her Instagram Story with the caption: “Bye bye B. Always grateful to see her again.”
She also paid tribute to her fellow cast members, including Natalie, in a farewell post which suggested that she had also finished filming for the time being.
“Thanks to all my beautiful @bbceastenders family for a wonderful few months of love and history making,” she wrote. “Honoured to have been part of it. @natcass1 I’ll miss my sis!”
This week, Bianca and Sonia clashed as they both struggled to move on from Reiss, but the sisters had an emotional chat in today’s episode and made amends.
