EastEnders is poised to broadcast an update on Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) following her sudden departure from Walford after Martin Fowler’s (James Bye) funeral earlier this year.
Sharon had also found herself embroiled in chaos after her failed relationship with Teddy Mitchell (Roland Manookian) and a fling with her ex-husband, Grant Mitchell (Ross Kemp).
The blonde beauty’s escapades left Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) heartbroken when he confessed his true feelings for his former wife amidst a mental breakdown.
Prior to Sharon’s abrupt exit, she was reunited with her adoptive sister Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig), who had returned from Australia after her uncle Martin’s tragic death in February.
However, Vicki wasn’t alone, bringing along her boyfriend Ross Marshall (Alex Walkinshaw) and his son Joel (Max Murray), and it quickly became apparent that the trio were harbouring a secret, reports OK!.
It was soon disclosed that rebellious Joel had upskirted a student in class and his father was compelled to pay a substantial amount of money to avoid any fallout, resulting in the family being barred from returning to Australia.
Wanting to support her younger sister, Sharon agreed that the family could stay with her and Albie, and consented to lend Ross the money he needed under the assumption he was in debt.
Sharon then departed Walford and travelled to the other side of the world herself, visiting Vicki’s mum Michelle Fowler (Susan Tully).
In her absence, Ross has secured employment, Joel has begun school and Vicki has taken on some work for the Panesar family by scrutinising their business accounts.
Recently, Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris), who is in charge of the Panesar accounts, was queried about some peculiar invoices, prompting Vicki to discuss it with Suki Panesar-Unwin (Balvinder Sopal) and Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara).
In forthcoming scenes, the mystery of the missing money is finally solved, but Sharon is not pleased. Vicki and Ross are living the high life as they finally find their footing and relish their new life in Albert Square.
However, their happiness is abruptly halted when Zack Hudson (James Farrar) declares that Sharon plans to evict them from the family home due to their failure to repay their debt.
In a bid to obtain some quick cash, Vicki requests an advance from Bernie but ends up losing her job, exacerbating the situation.
In response, Vicki pilfers Bernie’s laptop and discovers Bernie has been siphoning off money from the Panesar business accounts.
Vicki seizes the opportunity to profit and blackmails Bernie for half of her illicit gains in exchange for her silence.
Bernie later discloses everything about a predicament, but what will she reveal?
Feeling victorious, Vicki manages to persuade Zack to talk to Sharon about staying at No. 43 after enlisting Kathy’s (Gillian Taylforth) support in her pleas.
However, Kathy is later appalled when Vicki unveils the true reason behind her sudden influx of cash.
Meanwhile, the Panesar family is determined to teach Vicki a lesson for nicking their money, with Suki leading the charge.
