Coronation Street exclusive – Christina’s next return confirmed after Daisy’s exit

Coronation Street is lining up another explosive return stint for Daisy Midgeley’s scheming mum Christina later this year, Inside Soap can exclusively reveal.

The aftermath of Daisy’s dramatic departure from the cobbles is pure agony for Jenny Connor next week, as she struggles to pick up the pieces once her stepdaughter has left Weatherfield with a bang.

But while Ms Midgeley is gone for good, it’s not the last we’ve seen of her partner in crime, meddling mum Christina.

Inside Soap can confirm that the calculating character, played by Amy Robbins, will be back later this year.

This means that fans can expect Christina to square up to arch-rival Jenny once again…

“The scam to fleece Jenny might have gone off the rails, but Christina is biding her time before she crawls out of the woodwork to create more mischief,” a Corrie source tells us here at Inside Soap.

“With the Rovers up for sale and her love life in tatters, Jen thinks things can’t get much worse – or can they?”

Imagine if Christina’s comeback sees her revealed as the surprise new owner of the Weatherfield watering hole? Reckon she’d give hard-up Jenny a few shifts behind the bar for old times’ sake? Not likely…

Amy has been playing the role of Christina on and off since 2023.

Speaking to us earlier in the year, she addressed the possibility of the door closing on Christina once Daisy has gone.

“I’m trying to have so much fun with her in the pub that they can’t get rid of her,” Amy quipped at the time. “It’s been lovely because it’s a great story.”

Sounds like her plan worked!

Monday’s Corrie episode (28 April) saw Christina and Daisy get caught out by Daniel Osbourne after he realised they were both up to no good.

When Daniel questioned why Christina was acting suspiciously with two phones, Daisy confessed to their elaborate plan to scam Jenny.

Daniel gave Daisy a dramatic ultimatum by ordering her to choose between their relationship and her cruel con. Much to his shock, Daisy picked her desire for a quick payout and announced that they were over.

Fans can expect further twists and turns in the coming days as we build up to Daisy’s final episode this Friday (2 May).
