Baccarin’s Mickey Fox already appeared in Fire Country seasons 2 and 3, which let audiences get to know some of the characters at the heart of CBS’s Sheriff Country. This makes the spinoff’s connection to Fire Country already clear, before it even begins. Sheriff Country’s focus on Edgewater’s dark underbelly also reduces the need for the Leones to often appear.

Different Filming Locations Can Force Sheriff Country Not To Overrely On Fire Country
Sheriff Country filming in Toronto can also be an extremely positive development beyond the fact that it got Morena Baccarin to return for the role. It can be difficult for spinoffs to find their own voice far from the parent series, and Fire Country’s massive success could make it easier to rely on it were Sheriff Country filmed in Vancouver.
Sheriff Country premieres on CBS on Friday, October 17, at 9pm ET, after Fire Country season 4’s premiere at 8pm ET on the same day.
With Sharon’s visit already revealed in Sheriff Country’s first look, it’s unlikely that the shows’ different filming locations will necessarily be a threat for Sheriff Country, even with crossovers being more difficult to pull off.
