Having decided to undergo plastic surgery to rid herself of any resemblance to Anthony, Steph attends another appointment to finalise the arrangements.

Caleb and Ruby are pleased to see that Steph has seemingly turned a corner but are shocked when Steph reveals she’s booked a last-minute holiday.

After Steph departs, Caleb grows concerned when he discovers the flight number Steph gave him doesn’t exist.

In a bid to uncover Steph’s whereabouts, Caleb and Ruby search her computer for clues and are horrified to find emails from the plastic surgery clinic.

Caleb and Ruby arrive at the clinic as preparations for Steph’s surgery are under way. They plead with Steph to change her mind but what will Steph decide?

After the events at the clinic, Steph goes into meltdown and starts trashing the kitchen. Ross is devastated to learn of Steph’s surgery plans and attempts to console her.

Steph rejects Ross’s attempts at comfort and unleashes a torrent of abuse at him. When she finally snaps out of it, Steph is ashamed of herself. She grabs a bottle of vodka and makes a hasty exit.

When Tracy gives Cain a card she wrote with Frankie for Nate’s birthday, Cain decides to reach out to Nate and leaves him a voicemail.

John listens to Cain’s voicemail, but when Nate’s phone rings again John is panicked and accidentally answers the call. After hanging up, John is overcome with the pressure of his lies and throws the phone.

Later, John realises he has a big problem when he sees Cain leaving another voicemail.

Cain tells Moira about the strange call with Nate, and she urges Cain to keep trying to get through to his son.

Cain visits Tracy and is gutted to learn she doesn’t have a new contact number for Nate. After spending some time with Frankie, Cain decides to take action and tells Tracy he’s going to Shetland to speak to Nate.

John is unnerved when Tracy fills him in on Cain’s plans.

Sarah has struggled in recent weeks since receiving a false positive in a pregnancy test. The situation causes Sarah to realise she wants a baby, rather than a boyfriend – and confides in Vanessa.

Vanessa questions Sarah’s sudden decision but is forced to mask her concerns as Sarah determines to have IVF.

Manpreet is taken aback when Sarah reveals her plans for a baby. Sarah tries to convince Manpreet that IVF is possible despite her condition.

Manpreet is sympathetic to Sarah’s desire to have a baby, but it soon becomes clear to her that Sarah is unwilling to accept the reality of her situation.

After her disappointing meeting with Manpreet, Sarah is undeterred and tells Vanessa she’s already gotten in touch with a new clinic to see if she’s eligible for IVF.

The pair are forced to cover when their conversation is interrupted by the arrival of Charity. Vanessa later tries to convince Sarah to confide in Charity about her plans for IVF.

Liam recovers following his brutal attack, convinced that Ella was behind it.

However, Liam and Chas are unsettled when PC Swirling provides a solid alibi for Ella – meaning the actual culprit is still at large.

Billy spirals with guilt when Evan is suddenly admitted to hospital.

Evan’s hospitalisation comes just after Billy moved out and into the Home Farm holiday cottage.

Billy is touched when Dawn tries to put his mind at ease by insisting that Evan’s hospitalisation isn’t his fault.

Vanessa and Mary’s friendship has been in tatters ever since Vanessa discovered that Mary shared a kiss with Suzy prior to Suzy’s death.

Vanessa has previously shot down Mary’s attempts at reconciliation, but she’s given pause when Sarah encourages her to put the past behind her and forgive Mary. Will Vanessa take Sarah’s advice on board?
