With Fire Country being a show focused on heart-pumping rescues every week, it may be hard to believe there’s so much fun happening behind the scenes! Well, Max Thieriot (who plays Bode Leone) is sharing a surprise insight into what creating the show is like — and why he’s hesitant to let a specific cast mate get ahold of a piece of important fire equipment.
The actor visited Good Housekeeping in April ahead of Fire Country‘s season 3 finale, where he helped us kick off our brand-new video franchise, Sheet Happens. While Max folded laundry with us, he also answered questions about what life is like when the cameras aren’t rolling for the hit CBS drama.
When asked which cast member he wouldn’t necessarily trust with having a fire extinguisher in their possession, Max surprised everyone with his answer. He stated he’d be weary of Kevin Alejandro (who portrays Manny Perez) having access to a fire extinguisher, because he might use it for other reasons than what it’s intended for.

“Kevin Alejandro, because Kevin is silly,” Max exclusively revealed in a clip posted on Good Housekeeping‘s TikTok. “He likes to always play jokes, he likes to have fun. He’s also one who is willing to push the boundaries of that … I wouldn’t be surprised if he’d pull the pin and just like, emptied it on you for fun.”
But that’s not all Max had to say about their friendship on set. He also emphasized that he’d understand where Kevin was coming from, for one specific reason.
“In fairness, I would do it to [Kevin], too,” he jokingly added. “I wouldn’t blame him.”

Now, this is an answer we definitely didn’t expect! Thankfully, both Max and Kevin know how to work this piece of emergency equipment — and fans will continue to see them in action when Fire Country returns for season 4 this fall on CBS.
