How is is that we’re already getting ready to witness the Fire Country season 3 midseason finale? While it feels like the newest installment just started, there’s been plenty of drama and danger — something star Max Thieriot says will continue to be a major theme in the coming weeks.

In an article published by TV Insider on November 17, the actor spoke out about what fans can expect from the CBS drama’s intense midseason finale. Folks have already seen Max’s character Bode become a Cal Fire cadet, rekindle his relationship with Gabriela Perez (Stephanie Arcila) and gain a new boss in SoCal firefighter Camden Casey (guest star Jared Padalecki). But as the installment gets ready to go on hiatus, Max teased that the Fire Country midseason finale will be one that’ll leave fans’ hearts pumping.

“The midseason finale is going to be big,” he told the outlet. “There’s going to be some awesome fire and it’s definitely sort of this, big beautiful, wonderful scope and we’re going to be left with a lot of characters really sort of facing some pretty terrifying situations. A lot of people are going to be faced with some big changes and some big decisions that they have to make and there may be lives at risk. It’s going to be great.”

Although there are still two episodes to go before Fire Country airs its midseason finale (episode 8), it’s no surprise to learn the show will live up to its title and offer a scary scenario involving fire and a cliffhanger.

But with viewers witnessing Bode’s journey going in multiple directions throughout season 3, will the episode showcase the emotional growth he’s been looking for since the show first aired in October 2022? As Max explained, viewers may be seeing the original Bode peek through — but maybe not in the way folks would expect.

“There’s a lot of forces that are pulling [Bode] in different ways and are creating a bit of uncertainty in his decision-making and how he needs to do things,” he added. “I think when we finally get to there, he sort of is just accepting where he is and who he is and that he’s going to ultimately be the firefighter that he’s going to be, not the one that anybody is trying to make him become. And so you’re going to see moments of old Bode, but also how he’s becoming the person he’s meant to be.”

As fans know, Bode has spent the majority of season 3 proving he has what it takes to become a full-fledged firefighter. And while he’s been able to move through the Cal Fire cadet program easier than expected, it’s clear these upcoming episodes will continue to shape the character into someone fans will want to keep seeing week after week.
