Emmerdale fans were quick to voice their demands after the ITV soap provided an update on Ella Forster in Monday’s episode.
John Sugden recently attacked Liam Cavanagh, mistaking him for Mackenzie Boyd. This incident followed the revelation of John’s dark past, which included orchestrating a series of disturbing events in the village.
It was revealed that John had deliberately poisoned Jacob Gallagher with the intention of stepping in as the hero. He also masterminded the terrifying attacks on Chas Dingle and falsely accused Ella Forster, all in an attempt to gain his mother-in-law’s trust.
Furthermore, it was disclosed that John had killed Nate Robinson while trying to play the hero during last year’s barn fire.
Last week, John’s family were left confused when it was revealed that he had lied about Aidan Moore. Mackenzie Boyd exposed John’s previous engagement to Aidan, who John had falsely claimed was dead, reports Belfast Live.
Mackenzie admitted that he was looking out for his best friend, Aaron Dingle, who is engaged to John. The discovery that Aidan is actually alive, albeit in a coma in hospital, led to a heated argument between the two friends.
Meanwhile, John is hell-bent on getting back at Mack for revealing one of his many secrets. In Friday’s episode, John attacked who he thought was Mackenzie, but it turned out to be Liam.
Luckily, the village doctor regained consciousness, allowing John to once again step into the role of the hero.
Liam was left scratching his head over who could have attacked him and why, initially suspecting his ex Ella, who had been falsely accused by John of harassing Chas.
But in Monday’s episode, a twist came when PC Swirling delivered unexpected news to a perplexed Liam and Chas: Ella had an ironclad alibi, eliminating her as a suspect in the assault.
Despite this revelation, Chas hastily pointed fingers at Ella for possibly orchestrating the attack through someone else. Yet, with no CCTV footage or concrete proof, the mystery remained unsolved, leaving Ella free from blame.
Following the latest development regarding Ella, soap fans were quick to voice their opinions online. One viewer expressed their anticipation: “I hope the writers don’t wimp out and cheat us out of the amazing scene where Chas and Liam finally learn Ella was framed by John – that’s the payoff I’m waiting for! Knock the arrogance right out of them.”
In response, another user commented: “I hope they apologise to Ella when they find out…”, while others echoed similar sentiments, with one saying: “Yes definitely Ella did some bad things but she doesn’t deserve this so Liam and Chas need some serious grovelling!” and another adding: “Poor Ella being confronted about something she didn’t do #Emmerdale.”
