There may be trouble ahead for Carla Connor (Alison King) and Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) in Coronation Street as the stars film emotional location scenes.
It has been far from plain sailing for the beloved couple since they made things official in November, after months not-so-secretly pining for each other.
First came the obstacle of Lisa’s feisty teenage daughter, Betsy (Sydney Martin), who arranged for Underworld to be ransacked in revenge for Lisa and Carla sleeping together.
The break-in resulted in Carla being attacked and suffering a bleed on the brain, which later led her to contract sepsis.
This left her needing another kidney transplant, and getting one wasn’t an easy feat, as it almost cost her her life on more than one occasion.
After making a secret deal with Lisa, killer Rob Donovan agreed to donate a kidney to his sister, only to seek violent revenge when the detective double-crossed him.
What followed was not one but two hostage situations, with Rob finally being caught after holding Carla and Lisa at gunpoint – but not before Lisa wrestled the gun from him and shot daughter Betsy in the process.
Enormous drama, right? Well, that’s not even half of it.
Lisa’s life hasn’t exactly been a bed of roses in recent months either, especially after she caught wind that there was more to wife Becky’s death than met the eye.
She’s found herself in more than one dangerous situation at work, which has caused tension between her and Betsy, and her parenting style has often raised questions with Carla.
Despite all that, things seem to have been improving for the couple in recent weeks, with the family planning to buy a new place together.
Not only that, but Lisa is set to finally face her demons as she heads to therapy for the first time after some encouragement from Carla.
However, things may be set to take a downward spiral, if new pictures obtained by Metro are anything to go by…
It appears that stars Vicky and Ali have been filming an emotional episode on location, with tears flowing for Lisa in the scenes.
As Lisa walks through the park, Carla follows in a rush – is she chasing after her, or is Lisa storming away?
Could Lisa’s tears have been triggered by an argument between them, or has something else knocked her for six?
We know that recently Betsy has been digging into Becky’s past, after discovering that she was being investigated for corruption before her death.
Could Lisa have discovered something earth-shattering about her late wife?
How and why Carla and Lisa are set to find themselves in the park is still a mystery, but we can only hope that whatever obstacle the couple is facing will see them come out the other side stronger than ever.
