Spoilers for Emmerdale may have teased who John Sugden will silence next after a troubling discovery on the ITV soap.
We found out this week the truth around Aidan’s fate, with hints at what led to him being hospitalised. After months of John claiming he was dead, we saw he was actually alive and in a coma.

John had told his sister Victoria Sugden and his fiancé Aaron Dingle that Aidan was someone he was close with in the army who died while they were in Afghanistan. It seems they were closer than army mates though, as a scene on Thursday teased they may have been an item.
He was heard telling Aidan, who is in a coma and has been ever since he sustained his injuries, that Aaron made him feel important and didn’t make him feel like second best like he did. He suggested Aidan never saw or heard him and didn’t treat him right, almost hinting as if they were a couple as he said Aaron “was different” to him.
They might have been close friends, but it certainly seems John felt betrayed by Aidan with hints he may have caused his injuries. After all he kept referring to what happened to Jacob Gallagher recently, before telling Aidan he tried but failed to save him.

We do know that John has some sort of a saviour complex and is always there when someone needs saving, with him even setting up situations so that he can play the hero. As well as causing people to have medical emergencies, he wastes no time in rushing to help people, such as those trapped in the barn fire, as he needs to be the hero.
This backfired though when he accidentally killed Nate Robinson months ago, giving him medication with the plan being to then bring him back to life only for him to die. So did something like this happen with Aidan, leaving him in a coma?

It’s claimed by John that he’s “stuck” and will never regain consciousness or heal from his injuries. But amid speculation he may wake up, new spoilers have revealed someone learns the truth about Aidan’s fate next week.
Victoria meets with an old army mate of John’s called Connor, who tells her all about Aidan. When she finds out Aidan is alive and in a coma she goes to visit him before rushing out.

Back at home she wastes no time in confronting her brother about Aidan and the truth about his fate. She demands answers and John is left agitated as he’s faced with having to reveal why he lied about Aidan being dead.
But could Victoria be in serious danger, and might John end up having to silence her to stop others finding out the truth? Some viewers certainly think so, with a new theory that she could be his next victim.
A fan posted: “‘Victoria had better watch her back now.” But are they onto something, and could John’s next victim be sealed?
