Thursday’s episode of Emmerdale saw Caleb Miligan flatline while on an operating table, but does he die?
Recently, viewers have seen Joe Tate target Caleb as a potential kidney donor, but the arrangements for the highly illegal operation didn’t go to plan.
Now, fans are worried that Caleb will die, meaning an exit for actor William Ash. Here’s all we know.

Caleb flatlines in Emmerdale
Thursday’s episode of Emmerdale saw Joe and Dr Crowley preparing for the kidney transplant that Joe desperately needs. But first they had to get Caleb in position.
Joe’s plan to drug Caleb failed, so instead, he ordered accomplice Shaun to stab Caleb. When Joe arrived at the private hospital with an injured Caleb in the back of the car, Dr Crowley was furious.
He pointed out that he wanted Caleb “unconscious, not half-butchered”. Nevertheless, the doctor took Caleb inside and got to work trying to save his life.
He soon got scared and told Joe that Caleb needed to go to a proper hospital. Joe managed to talk Crowley round by offering him more money.
However, when the doctor informed Joe they were ready to start the kidney transplant operation, the machine started beeping and Caleb was seen flatlining.

Fans have taken to social media to beg for Caleb to survive. “Please don’t let Caleb die,” wrote one fan.”
“If Caleb doesn’t make it, not happy, best eye candy,” commented a second fan. “Keep him, I love Will Ash,” added a third fan.
Despite fan protests, there is evidence that Caleb could die. Firstly, at the start of the year, Emmerdale aired several flash forward scenes.
In one scene, Cain is seen crying over a fresh grave. Hard man Cain wouldn’t show emotion for just anyone, so we have to assume the grave belongs to someone close to him. If not Caleb, then who else could it be?
In addition to this, William Ash, who plays Caleb, has a new project in the works. He will star in a short film titled Calm, which tells the story of an overwhelmed first-time father.
Calm has been written by Toby-Alexander Smith, who also happens to be the husband of Will’s Emmerdale co-star Amy Walsh.
Does the fact that Will is doing other work hint to his Emmerdale exit? The good news is there has been no confirmation of an exit for Caleb. Also, with the soap having recently killed off several characters, it’s unlikely that they’ll add another to the pile so soon.
