There’s good scheduling news at last for soap fans – Emmerdale returns to our screens tonight following a five-day break.

Fans have been forced to cope without a daily dose of drama from the Dales, as ITV1 has cleared its schedules to make way for the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 games.

The last time we saw the show, Robert Sugden and Kim Tate were smugly celebrating after tricking Moira Dingle by making a secret deal for Annie’s Field.

Viewers can now see what happens next, as Emmerdale airs a new episode at 7.30pm on ITV1 tonight.

In this evening’s episode, Kim isn’t feeling so cocky as she sensitively breaks the news to Dawn Fletcher that she’s dating someone new.

Kim opens up to Dawn about her new tentative relationship with the mysterious Eddie, who hasn’t been introduced to viewers yet.

Disapproving Dawn immediately finds it “weird” that Kim is moving on, after the devastating loss of Will Taylor at Christmas. But can Kim win her over?

Meanwhile, Laurel Thomas is in for a shock when a phone glitch leads to her overhearing a private conversation between Vinny Dingle and Kammy Hadiq.

Kammy knows that Vinny is having doubts over his upcoming wedding to Laurel’s stepdaughter Gabby, so doesn’t hold back with his advice. But just how much will Laurel hear?

Finally, a new ordeal looms for Joe Tate when his true tormentors are revealed and he becomes the victim of a shock attack.
