In Emmerdale, Kim Tate has been sporting a grin on her face of late and the cause of that is a new man, who goes by the name of Eddie.

With Kim and Robert forming a business alliance, fans have been speculating that maybe they’re mixing business with pleasure and that Robert is the mysterious Eddie.

But those fans are forgetting an important detail that rules Robert out.

The Queen of Home Farm has been engrossed in her phone recently, while also walking around like the Cheshire Cat.

When questioned by Joe if she’d had anyone in the house, Kim became cagey and refused to answer. She also wouldn’t tell him who she was texting.

Viewers got a quick glance at Kim’s phone screen and saw she had been messaging a man named Eddie. In one message, Eddie wrote: “I love cooking for you.” While Kim was eager to know when she’d see him again.

During a chat with Lydia, Kim was a bit more forthcoming and told her friend that Eddie is a widow and a surgeon.

Fans have lots of theories over who Kim’s man could be, from Dr Crowley to a romance scam.

But others believe Eddie could be Robert Sugden. It was recently revealed that Robert is working with Kim in a deal to buy the old Sugden land from Moira. Could the pair be mixing business and pleasure?

One fan took to Reddit to question if Robert was in fact Eddie. They asked: “Robert isn’t Eddie, is he..???”

Other fans then speculated if Robert was indeed the new boyfriend of Kim Tate, with another fan writing that they ‘hope not.’

Over on X, fans had similar thoughts, with one viewer writing: “So, is Robert Kim‘s mystery man…?”

But any fans wondering the same thing are forgetting a major detail. As well as the mystery man being a cosmetic surgeon, Kim also mentioned that she met him at the races.

Robert does not frequent the races, and you’d image his bank balance would be against the idea too. And, of course, Kim would recognise him. So for now at least, Kim and Robert are just business associates.
