What happened in Emmerdale tonight (Friday): Joe threatened Noah and Harry was rushed to hospital

In tonight’s Emmerdale recap, Victoria Sugden’s son Harry was rushed to hospital – all because of John.

Elsewhere Noah Dingle went to see Joe, and things didn’t exactly go well for the brothers as Joe threatened him.

And Billy decided not to battle for custody – after he and Dawn had the same argument (again!)

Read on for a full Emmerdale recap for tonight (May 16).

Emmerdale recap: The slurry spread

Moira Dingle made the shocking discovery that the slurry had leaked from the machine, and immediately blamed Mack. He remained adamant that he fixed it the way he always does – but couldn’t give an alternative to what happened.

John and Aaron arrive at the farm because John suddenly wanted to make things right with Mack, and so they led a hand to sort it all out.

However, just when they thought it was almost all sorted, Cain arrived to tell them it had leaked into the stream. The stream which connects to the entire village’s water supply, meaning the water could be contaminated. They send a message into the village group chat to warn everyone (We would love to see what else gets talked about in there).

Harry was rushed to hospital

When John, Aaron, Mack, Moira and Cain all headed to the pub after the day the had, Ross interrupted to tell them he saw an ambulance at Vic’s.

Immediately John rushed out to make sure his sister was okay. But he quickly discovered that it was little Harry in the back of the ambulance.

Victoria explained he had a headache and she hadn’t seen the message in the village group chat about not drinking the water.

While Mack began to blame himself, the guilt and panic on John’s face was evident. As he realised he has just put his own nephew in hospital.

Joe threatened Noah in Emmerdale recap

He may have just woken up from a coma, but it seems Joe Tate is still very much Joe Tate.

Having already threatened Billy, he turned his attention to his little brother tonight. Noah arrived to confront Joe about the drugging, and to see if he has cleared his name. But Joe wasn’t about to do that.

Instead, Joe agreed to tell the police it wasn’t Noah – so long as Noah retracted his statement about the drugging.

Initially Noah was appalled. But he soon realised he could get something in return and agreed.

Joe told the police an obvious lie that he tripped and fell out the window while putting his phone on the charger (very believable!). It was obvious that DS Desari didn’t believe him. And it actually made Noah look even more guilty as he had just retracted his statement.

Villagers turned against Noah

By taking back what he said, Noah just gave Joe a free pass to getting away with three deaths. And that made a lot of people very angry!

Jacob overheard him tell Charity, and started having a go at him. Jacob made it clear that he wasn’t about to forgive Noah for this as Leyla will now not get justice.

Charity brought Noah into the back room and asked him why. Noah explained that he got something in return – money.

After she heard that, Charity was disgusted at him for being bought over. She kicked him out, upset that his Tate DNA won over his Dingle side.

Dawn and Billy argue in Emmerdale

Billy and Dawn argued (again)

It was once again the same argument for Billy and Dawn over her love for Joe. Only this time, Billy agreed to stop fighting her for custody.

While Dawn admitted she does love Joe, she remained positive that they weren’t getting back together, but Billy didn’t buy it. And fans are on his side.

As he left Home Farm and his wedding ring behind, Billy had some harsh words for Dawn: “Maybe you never left the streets, maybe you just upped your price”. Ouch!

Dawn once again went to visit Joe after listening to his voicemails. He begged her for another chance, promising to be different. But Dawn simply asked him to give her time. Will they get back together?

Manpreet got a new housemate

Ryan and Ross are drowning their sorrows again, but Ross kept glancing back at Manpreet (please don’t make them a thing!).

When Manpreet overheard Ryan talk about finding somewhere else to live, she offered him Ella’s room at her house – and he agreed.

That’s when Vic overheard the pair discuss Ross’ long-lost brother Lewis. She cut into their conversation to remind Ross that’s what she and John went through and how happy she is to have him now. Will Ross listen and meet Lewis again?
